A New Investment in Early Childhood Development
The municipal council of San Salvador Centro has approved funding for a new CAPI center. The early childhood care center will support children from their earliest days
According to councilor José Andrés Hernández, the project represents an investment of $770,280, fully financed by the municipality.

What Is a CAPI and Why Does It Matter
Under the Ley Crecer Juntos, municipalities must establish free public early childhood care centers. These centers serve children aged 45 days to 4 years. CONAPINA regulates these centers.
CAPIs are designed to provide:
- Loving, responsive care
- Early stimulation and learning
- Personal care and hygiene support
- Monitoring of growth and development

To complement the new center, the municipality has formed partnerships with:
- Salvadoran Institute of Tourism
- The Secretariat of Women and Family
These partnerships will give families access to recreational spaces and activities that promote well-being, coexistence, and social integration in the historic center.
