Beachside Delivery: If you opt for food to be brought to your beach area, my experience was that it fell below expectations. The quality left something to be desired.
Seated Restaurant: However, the difference is remarkable when you visit the sit-down restaurant. The food and service are significantly better.
At the restaurant, they were promoting a Guatemalan beer, Gallo, which means rooster in Spanish. Gallo, in Guatemala, is a renowned pale lager, the country’s oldest continuously produced beer. Its rich history traces back to 1896, making it a significant part of Guatemalan culture and heritage. I found it to be a very good beer.
Cozy Accommodations: The resort boasts a boutique hotel designed to surround guests comfortably.
Palm-Roofed Retreats: Seek shade under the natural palm ranchos, where hammocks sway gently. Lose track of time as you sip a chilled drink and let the sun kiss your skin.
Aquatic Adventures: Thrill-seekers can plunge the water slide, surrounded by lush greenery. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, there are seven pools to choose from—two for adults, two for children, and three filled with invigorating seawater.
Waterfront Bliss: Whether paddleboarding, surfing or simply floating on the gentle waves, the resort’s water activities promise endless fun.

Surfing enthusiasts from around the world gathered on the sun-kissed shores of El Salvador for the much-anticipated 2024 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship. With youth’s strength, vigor, and boundless joy, this vibrant event started in a dazzling, multicolored ceremony.
Record Participation and Unity
Four hundred forty-seven surfers from 54 countries converged at the picturesque venue, their boards poised for the exhilarating rides that awaited them. Like an ancient storyteller, the ocean whispered tales of waves and dreams to these young athletes.
The opening ceremony, a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, unfolded under the watchful eyes of distinguished guests. Fernando Aguerre, President of the International Surfing Association (ISA), stood at the heart of it all, his passion for the sport radiating like the midday sun.
Alongside him was Morena Valdez, the Minister of Tourism, whose presence testified to the significance of this championship for El Salvador.
The Sand Ceremony: Symbolizing Unity
The sands of El Salvador held secrets—stories of tides, storms, and resilience. And so, in a symbolic act of unity, one or two athletes from each delegation stepped forward. They carried a handful of sand from their home beaches, grains that represented their nations.
They poured this precious sand into a communal tank, creating a mosaic of colors—a living map of solidarity. The message was clear: we are one, bound by the love of surfing and the spirit of competition.

As the sun dipped toward the horizon, Fernando Aguerre took the stage. His voice, a blend of gratitude and determination, resonated across the beach.

Earlier today, representatives of the Maxibasketball teams proudly received the national flag from Roberto Calderón, the legal manager of INDES. As they prepare for their journey to Florida, Calderón expressed his confidence in their ability to represent El Salvador on this international stage.
María Hércules, a seasoned player from the +50 years category, shared her perspective on basketball’s significance in her life. She emphasized that basketball is a passion and a source of camaraderie, dedication, and well-being.
The Coral Springs Gymnasium will witness fierce competition as these talented athletes vie for victory.
This invitation from the MBA came thanks to the excellent work that the National Maxibasketball League of El Salvador has done, as it has 36 teams that remain active with games throughout the year. “We’re going with all the enthusiasm we’ve always had; we’ve prepared ourselves physically and mentally to give our best performance. Even at our age, we continue to maintain that sportsmanship and discipline that our coaches instilled in us from our beginnings in basketball,” said Antonieta Garay, president of the league.
El Salvador will be represented by two female delegations in the 40+ years category and one in the 50+ years category. Additionally, in the men’s category, El Salvador will compete in the 40+ years category. Notably, this year marks the MBA’s 40th anniversary, and they are introducing the women’s competition in this event.
“We aim to secure a top position—ideally first or second place. As women, we are proud pioneers within the event, representing El Salvador as the sole participants from the isthmus,” emphasized Antonieta Garay, president of the league.

In a notable shift, the number of migrants from El Salvador intercepted by U.S. border authorities in 2023 was 66,089, a significant decrease compared to the figures for Guatemala (261,364) and Honduras (234,801).
Based on U.S. Customs and Border Protection records, AFP data also reveal that the number of Salvadoran migrants exceeded 100,000 only in 2021. However, a downward trend was observed in 2022 and 2023.
The change in migratory patterns coincides with the positive developments witnessed during Nayib Bukele’s current five-year term in El Salvador.
