Why I Wrote Harmony of the Cosmos

People often ask me why I wrote Harmony of the Cosmos. I didn’t make the decision all at once. Over the years, the idea grew inside me as a feeling and a need to express something I couldn’t quite put into words. That feeling slowly turned into words, then pages, and finally, a book.

For me, this was more than a writing project. It was a way to listen to the Universe.

A Feeling I Couldn’t Ignore

Sometimes, you notice something bigger than yourself. It’s not dramatic or mystical, just a quiet, steady presence. I remember one morning during a walk: the sun rose over the trees, the sky was a clear blue, and for a moment, I felt deeply connected to everything around me. Moments like this happen often for me here in El Salvador and have happened throughout my life in many places around the world. In memories like these, in certain places, in the way light falls on a wall, or in the silence of early morning, I felt that presence.

I started to feel that everything was connected, not just as an idea, but in real life. The past and present, what we see and what we don’t, the personal and the cosmic all seemed to be part of the same story.

I didn’t write Harmony of the Cosmos to explain these connections. I wrote it to show them.

Writing as a Way of Belonging

I’ve always believed that writing helps us feel like we belong—to ourselves, to others, and to the world. This book was my way of reaching out and saying, I see something here. Do you see it too?

This isn’t a manual or a manifesto. It’s a collection of reflections, memories, and observations that point to something deeper. I hope readers can feel it, even if they can’t name it.

Searching Through Faith

As I wrote, I explored religious ideas and spiritual traditions. I didn’t want to argue with anyone’s beliefs, but to understand what they mean to me and to others. This research was personal. It helped me ask questions and try to make sense of the patterns I noticed in life and history.

Even after all that research, I still have many unanswered questions. The mystery remains. I will keep researching and exploring, and accept it as part of the journey.
